In 1979, the American Dream was strong among families from overseas. An Indian family moved from India to the United States with high hopes of living the American Dream – and they chose to live in appropriately-named Small Town. Even as the adults struggle with achieving their dreams, their 10-year old son as issues of his own, too. He falls head over heels in love for the girl next door, a coming-of-age event that starts many more problems for him and his family. As he strives to be a “good old boy” for her, he also becomes more and more alienated from his family’s value system.
